On June 17, 2023, the East Africa Youth Council participated in a meeting organized by Belt of Somali Women, which promoted cooperation in raising awareness of Goal 5 of Gender Equality and the eradication of female genital mutilation, which is an issue against humanity.

Important points and decisions were exchanged there to restore the lost human rights caused by female genital mutilation.
